NAKUSP, B.C. — A southeastern B.C., man in his 30s remains behind bars while awaiting his next court date on explosives charges.

RCMP in the West Kootenay community of Nakusp, about 150 kilometres northwest of Nelson, say a man was arrested after a search warrant was served at a mobile home park Monday morning.

Neighbouring trailers were evacuated when officers found what appeared to be dynamite and a blasting cap.

The RCMP’s explosives disposal unit reached Nakusp Monday evening, confirmed the items were explosive and removed them to a safe location where they were detonated.
