Kamloops rinks begin B.C. Scotties curling with a win and a loss

KAMLOOPS — The two Kamloops rinks met last night in the first draw at the eight rink B.C. women’s curling championship in Coquitlam.

Karla Thompson jumped out to a 6-0 lead after five ends and went on to defeat Amanda Russett 8-5.

In other games six time B.C. champion Kelly Scott of Kelowna was a 6-3 winner over Diane Gushulak from New Westminster.

Patti Knezevic, the defending champion from Prince George, won 5-4 over Nanaimo’s Kessa Van Osch.
