Police investigate deaths in Lower Mainland

VANCOUVER — Collision analysts have been called in to assess the scene of a fatal hit-and-run in South Langley.

Langley RCMP say they responded early on Sunday to find a 44-year-old pedestrian had been hit by a car and killed.

Police say witnesses reported seeing a vehicle briefly stop after the collision then quickly flee the scene.

The man has not been identified.

Officers came across the body of a 33-year-old Pitt Meadows man inside a vehicle early Saturday.

They say the victim is not known to police and that the killing has no known connection to any other criminal activity.

Police say few other details will be made public in order not to compromise the investigation.
