Fulton field flight offerings to remain stable

KAMLOOPS — While Kelowna’s airport is nixing flights to northern Alberta, officials say there is no plan to do likewise at Fulton Field.

Westjet announced this week a direct daily flight from Kelowna to Fort McMurray will be scrapped as of next February. The airline indicated the downturn in the oil and gas industry was the reason it had to cancel the flight.

Meanwhile, Kamloops Airport Manager Fred Legace says the direct Kamloops to Edmonton flight is doing well and he’d actually like to see Kamloops add flights, not end them.
