Kamloops RCMP appeal for information in cold case

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are bringing forward a cold case murder investigation, in an effort to get new leads into the unsolved crime.

On the morning of Saturday, April 9th, 2005, the body of Sherri Lee Hiltz was found in a vacant lot in the 800-block of Surrey Avenue.

While it was clear Hiltz met with foul play, investigators have not yet identified her killer.

Corporal Cheryl Bush says in the ensuing ten years, the file was never closed.

“Police would continue with any leads that they had from the onset of the investigation, and of course any new information that may come in is always looked at, and always followed up on,” said Bush.

Bush adds Hiltz has a family that deserves a sense of closure, and is calling on anyone with the slightest shred of information to bring it forward.

Police are pleading with the public that if anyone has, even a sliver of information, that they have not yet shared with police, you are urged to contact your local police, Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
