KAMLOOPS — As the end of the year draws to a close, the Kamloops Hospice is also reaching out to the public to help raise much needed funds.

The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice relies heavily on community support to keep the facility running.

This year, a ’12 days of Christmas’ campaign has been launched with a goal of raising over $29,000-dollars.

“We have 12 beds at Hospice and for 12 days we want to fund those beds. We need to raise $205-dollars per day – per bed, that means just over $2,400-dollars a day for 12 beds, or $29,520-dollars, for 12 days for 12 beds and that’s our 12 days of Christmas campaign.” Said Wendy Marlow, Executive Director of Kamloops Hospice.

Every month, Hospice needs to raise close $70,000 dollars to buy food, medical supplies and much more to make patients and their families feel comfortable.

To help hospice reach its fundraising goal you can always make a donation in person at Kamloops Hospice, or over the phone.

Meanwhile, the annual ‘Celebrate a Life’ event is up and running at Northills Mall.

From now until December 23rd everyone is invited to decorate the Christmas tree on display at the mall with a memory card and light representing a relative or friend who has passed away.
