Petition to stop time change growing

Oct 29, 2015 | 2:26 PM

As we get ready to turn our clocks back one hour this weekend, former President of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Bob Dieno says he’s tired of changing his clocks over twice a year and wants your help in lobbying the province to stop the time change.

Dieno changing the clocks twice a year is a hassle. In fact, the time change once caused him to miss a Monday morning exam in University. But he’s done extensive research and believes the benefits of Daylight Savings Time aren’t worth the headaches involved in setting the clocks forward in the spring – and back in the fall – every single year.

In less than 48 hours, Dieno’s petition on change.org has received over 2,000 signatures and counting of the 10,000 needed in order to begin lobbying the provincial government.

If you’re interested in signing the petition, you can visit change.org and search Stop the Time Change.
