Toronto FC picks Clemson defender in MLS draft but most teams pass final 2 rounds
Toronto FC selected Clemson defender Patrick Bunk-Andersen in the third round (64th overall) as the MLS SuperDraft resumed Monday.
The 24-year-old from Denmark played 82 games in four seasons at Clemson. As a senior, he played every minute of the Tigers’ 17 matches.
The first two rounds went Friday in Chicago, with four Canadians chosen — three of whom went in the top 10. Rounds 3 and 4 were held via conference call Monday.
The Montreal Impact passed on their three remaining picks — one in the third round and two in the fourth. The Vancouver Whitecaps, who had traded their third-round spot, passed on their fourth-round selection. Toronto had traded away its fourth-round pick.
