Canada’s two-man crew of Kripps, Stones in contention at world championships

WHISTLER, B.C. — Canada’s Justin Kripps and Cam Stones are in contention halfway through two-man bobsled runs at the world championships.

Kripps of Summerland, B.C., and Stones of Whitby, Ont., are 0.12 seconds back of Germany’s Francesco Friedrich and Margis Thorsten after two runs.

The Canadians set a track record on their first run by completing the course in 50.96 seconds.

Kripps and Stones have a two run total of one minute 42.43 seconds going into Saturday’s finale.
