$20 million dollar housing project carries Kamloops building sector in November

KAMLOOPS — A $20 million dollar housing project carried the Kamloops building sector in November.

New numbers released by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show $30.6 million in permit activity for November 2024, which is less than half of the $70.5 million during the same month in 2023.

However, the November permit activity pushed the year-to-date total for 2024 to $350.4 million. That’s more than a 50 per cent increase of the value of permits issued at the same point in 2023.

The most notable permit for November 2024 includes one 136-unit multi-family project worth $20 million. In total, 26 residential permits providing 153 units of housing were worth $25.3 million in November.

Elsewhere, 15 commercial permits were worth $4.8 million in November.
