Rockfall near McLure impacting northbound traffic on Highway 5

MCLURE, B.C. — (UPDATE 12:15 p.m.): DriveBC says crews are in the clearing stages after this morning’s rockfall in the northbound lane on Highway 5, near McLure

In an update just before noon, it said traffic is flowing in both directions.

“Continue to watch for traffic control on scene and pass with caution,” DriveBC said.

ORIGINAL — Drivers in the North Thompson are being told to watch for rocks in the northbound lanes of Highway 5, near McLure.

The highway isn’t closed, but there are crews both on scene and en route to the scene near Carilla Road, about 16 kilometres south of Barriere.
