Andre Braugher Dies

Beloved actor Andre Braugher died on Monday (December 11th) following a brief illness. He was 61 years old.

Braugher was most known for his roles in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide: Life on the Street. He won an Emmy Award for his role as Detective Frank Pembleton during his final season of Homicide in 1998. He also won an Emmy Award in 2006 for his role on the FX series Thief.

The House, M.D. actor held roles in films such as Glory, City of Angels, She Said, Frequency, Poseidon, Primal Fear, Duets, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Salt.

Many in Hollywood took to social media on Wednesday (December 13th) to honor the late actor, including his Brooklyn Nine-Nine costar, Terry Crews. “Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent,” Crews wrote. “This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you.”
