No UNLV students killed in shooting; victims were faculty members, university says
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A gunman who killed three faculty members at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, before dying in a shootout with police, did not appear to be targeting students, according to two law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the investigation.
Terrified students and professors cowered in classrooms and dorms as the gunman roamed UNLV’s Lee Business School on Wednesday and opened fire just before noon on the fourth floor, where faculty and staff offices for the accounting and marketing departments are located. A fourth person was critically wounded in the shooting, police said.
No students were killed in the shooting and all victims were faculty members, school officials announced Thursday on X, formerly Twitter.
The university said the victims of the Wednesday attack were all faculty members.
