Public input deadline extended for Disaster Financial Assistance
VICTORIA — The Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness has announced a deadline extension for public input regarding Disaster Financial Assistance.
In a release issued Wednesday (Nov. 29), the ministry declared anyone interested in helping to mold and improve how the province responds following a disaster now has until January 31, 2024.
The Disaster Financial Assistance program helps people, businesses and organizations cover disaster-related losses that are not readily insured, including item replacements, building repairs and debris removal.
People, small businesses and communities will be able to provide their experiences in order to shape new policy and improve support and response systems in the case of a disaster.
