Two years after the tragedy at his Astroworld Festival in Houston, Travis Scott finally spoke out about the disaster. “I always think about it. Those fans were like my family,” he said in an interview with GQ for their Men of the Year Issue. “You just feel for those people. And their families.” The rapper explained that it took him “months and months and months” after that night. “Making music, you think about things that go on in life and things that happen in your life, and you dial in on things. That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating,” he said. In the same interview, Scott laid out his plan to shift his focus from music to architecture. “I’m going to Harvard for architecture school,” he said. “I got to work hard to get in. They’re not letting me take any shortcuts.” He’s already visited the campus.
