Premier Eby outlines Earth Day environmental commitments
BRITISH COLUMBIA – Premier David Eby and Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy George Heyman have issued a statement on Earth Day 2023, expressing their commitment to protect the planet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in British Columbia. Premier Eby emphasized the need for immediate and lasting actions to combat climate change and its effects on the province.
“Our government continues to prioritize investing in climate action, making it more affordable for people to switch to electric vehicles and cleaner ways to heat and cool their homes,” said Premier Eby.
“We are committed to greater electrification and continuing the transition to other renewable energy sources.” Eby continued
The premier claimed that the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 was one of the most progressive climate action plans in North America, and is leading the province toward a future where new buildings and vehicles produce zero emissions, communities are ready for a changing climate, and industries are the cleanest in the world.
