Charlie XCX Cancels SNL Performance

Charlie XCX‘s Saturday Night Live performance this past weekend was canceled.

Charlie, who was scheduled to perform live on Saturday (December 18th), announced to her fans that she was no longer performing after SNL revealed that their Saturday taping wouldn’t include a live audience as COVID-19 cases have surged in New York City due to the omicron variant.

Charlie XCX wrote on social media, “Hi everyone, due to the limited crew at tonight’s taping of snl my musical performances will no longer be able to go ahead. i am devastated and heartbroken. myself, caroline, christine and all of our crews and teams have worked so hard all week alongside the snl team to bring the most amazing music performance to life. it can’t happen this time but I’ll be back! i am currently safe and healthy but of course very sad.”

She added, “Please look after yourselves out there and make sure you get vaccinated if you haven’t already.”

Charlie did, however, appear in a pre-taped musical segment on SNL called “The Christmas Socks” with Paul Rudd, who hosted the show.
