TOM PETTY’S FAMILY APPRECIATES BIDEN TRIBUTE: President-elect Joe Biden played the late Tom Petty‘s “I Won’t Back Down” at their victory speech in Delaware Saturday, and the rocker’s family approved. His Twitter account read: “We were all so touched to see Tom included on such an important night in America. Congratulations @joebiden and @kamalaharris.” Petty died in October of 2018 from an accidental drug overdose. They filed a cease and desist order against the Trump campaign in June when the same song was played. (Page Six)
JAMIE SPEARS WON’T STEP DOWN: Britney Spears‘ father Jamie is not giving up management of her conservatorship, despite numerous legal maneuvers on her part, according to reports. He is now hitting up courts asking that her attempts to remove him from his conservatorship post be shut down after 12 years. Britney wants Jamie’s new co-manager, Bessemer Trust, to run the show. ALEX TREBEK WANTS TO REMEMBERED AS HUSBAND AND FATHER: Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek died at age 80 on Sunday after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March. In the final chapter of his memoir, The Answer Is …, which was released in July, he wrote: “I’m often asked how I would like to be remembered. I don’t think about it much… But I suppose if I had to answer I would say I’d like to be remembered first of all as a good and loving husband and father, and also as a decent man who did his best to help people perform at their best.” He and his wife Jean share Matthew, 29, a restaurateur in Manhattan, and daughter Emily, 27, who works in real estate in Los Angeles, per People. Trebek also has an older daughter Nicky, 53, from a previous marriage. (People)
