Trial date set for Salmon Arm church murder suspect

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A murder suspect in a Salmon Arm church shooting will go on trial this summer.

Matrix Gathergood, 25, is accused of killing 78-year-old Gordon Parmenter at the Church of Christ in April 2019.

He’s also charged with aggravated assault after another man was injured in the church.

Gathergood’s trial will start July 21 in Salmon Arm Supreme Court.

Reports say Gathergood was Parmenter’s neighbor.
