JOHNNY DEPP SCORES 8-FIGURE SETTLEMENT FROM LAWYERS: After a protracted legal battle with his lawyers, Johnny Depp snagged an eight-figure settlement against Jake Bloom, The Blast reports. Depp’s attorney Adam Waldman tells The Blast, “Today, Bloom Hergott provided Johnny Depp an 8-figure payment to settle Mr. Depp’s lawsuit against the firm for fraud, conflict of interest, disgorgement of over $30 million in voidable fees and other malfeasance that they engaged in over nearly two decades.” (The Blast)
DOES FOOTAGE BACK CUBA GOODING JR. ACCUSER? TMZ reports that Cuba Gooding Jr.‘s hand made contact with the backside of the TAO server Natasha Ashworth, who is suing him. The footage-which TMZ has-appears to back her account of being touched, then getting heated and having a verbal confrontation with him. Gooding is being charged with sexual abuse in the third degree and forcible touching. His attorney, Mark Jay Heller tells us, “This is a bogus butt grope claim. The video proves Cuba is innocent beyond a reasonable doubt.” Gooding is due in court today to be arraigned on counts against him related to another accuser. He has pleaded not guilty to all six charges he is facing. (TMZ)
CARRIE FISHER SENT MARCIA CLARKE FLOWERS DURING O.J. TRIAL: Carrie Fisher felt for prosecutor Marcia Clark during the O.J. Simpson trial. Page Six reports that in Carrie Fisher: Life on the Edge, Clark tells author Sheila Weller that she had to ask Judge Lance during the televised trial for a half-day off to deal with child-care issues. “I thought I was gonna get slammed by the public with ‘She can’t handle it as a prosecutor! Women can’t do this job!'” she said. When she walked into court, she found a basket of flowers from Fisher, also a single mom. The book is out November 12th. (Page Six)
