JOHN CHO INJURED ON SET OF NETFLIX‘S COWBOY BEBOP: Netflix‘s upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop is going on break after lead actor John Cho got injured on the show’s set in New Zealand. It was reportedly a freak accident that happened on the last take of a rehearsed scene. The injury will reportedly require surgery and rehab; he flew back to L.A. for the surgery. Production will be shut down for seven to nine months. “Our thoughts are with John, and he has our complete support as he recuperates from this injury,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline.

SAM WATERSTON AND JANE FONDA ARRESTED: Jane Fonda and Sam Waterston got arrested for civil disobedience on Friday. The 81-year-old was inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, and she says she hopes to inspire other older Americans to join her. Fonda and Waterston were among the 17 protesters arrested Friday by what she calls very “nice” Capital police officers. She plans to protest outside of the U.S. Capitol every Friday until she sees action being taken on climate change. “The only problem for me is I’m old,” Fonda said. After her first arrest last week, she recounted, “I had my handcuffs behind me, and I couldn’t get into the paddy wagon because you have to step way up as you’re leaning over and I had nothing to hang on to.”

JAKE GYLLENHAAL SAVES DALMATION: Jake Gyllenhaal saved a gigantic Dalmation who was trapped in the middle of the New York City intersection. According to reports, the dog was on a leash, but had gotten away from its owner. He reportedly calmed the dog down and led it back to its owner. Gyllenhaal has had several dogs, including puggle Boo Radley and German Shepherd Atticus.

JIM CARREY AND GINGER GONZAGA ARE DONE: Jim Carrey and Ginger Gonzaga have called it quits. The Kidding co-stars reportedly split months ago. They made their red carpet debut in January at the 2019 Golden Globes.

KATE MIDDLETON AND PRINCE WILLIAM MAKE VISIT TO ORPHANAGE: Prince William and Kate Middleton made a special stop to an orphanage at the end of their royal tour of Pakistan. The pair swung by the SOS Children’s Village orphanage after their Royal Air Force plane got sidetracked to Lahore during a severe thunderstorm. “That nurturing of this place really comes through. It’s like an arm wrapped around you,” the prince reportedly remarked during the visit. “What you’re all doing is amazing and you’ve got two ambassadors in us.” As a sign of thanks, the children gave the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge friendship bracelets; a pink one for Middleton and a blue one for her husband.

HOLLYWOOD RIPPER FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER AFTER ASHTON KUTCHER TESTIMONY: A jury has recommended that the so-called Hollywood Ripper, Michael Gargiulo, be sentenced to death for murdering two women and the attempted murder of another. He will be sentenced on February 28th, 2020. One of the women who was murdered, Ashley Ellerin, was dating Ashton Kutcher at the time. He testified against Gargiulo a few months ago.
