Liam Has Filed!

Liam Hemsworth has filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Hemsworth made the filing in Los Angeles Superior Court Wednesday morning. “Irreconcilable differences” are cited as the reason for the split.

The docs note that the pair married just seven months ago on December 23, 2018, but the date of separation so far is “TBD.” It also says that they have a prenup, so Hemsworth requested that no spousal support be awarded to either party.

The filing comes on the heels of a story about Cyrus and longtime friend Kaitlynn Carter, who the singer has been linked to, “basically having sex” at a club over the weekend.

The same day that very public display of affection reportedly took place, Cyrus released a new breakup anthem, “Slide Away,” that made reference to being fed up with drug and alcohol use. Sources from Cyrus’s side reportedly told multiple media outlets that Cyrus fought to save her marriage but part of their problems were around Hemsworth drinking and using drugs. The song also referenced The Hills – the show Carter appeared on with her ex Brody Jenner.

Hemsworth’s filing comes just weeks after the pair revealed they had separated. On August 10th, a rep for Cyrus confirmed that the couple had split.

That same day, Cyrus was seen kissing Carter in Italy. Since returning from Italy, Cyrus has continued to spend time with Carter, while Hemsworth remains in Australia with his family.

Sources say Cyrus was blindsided by Hemsworth’s decision to officially end their marriage. While the news didn’t come as a shock to many outside the relationship, People magazine reported Cyrus wasn’t expecting the split so soon. “She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well,” a Cyrus insider told People after the divorce filing.

“What she and Liam had for a long time was very special,” the source added. “It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”

The two were married at Miley’s Nashville home over Christmas during an intimate ceremony.

In other news, Miley and Kaitlynn sent Brody Jenner something special for his birthday. Jenner, who turned 36 on August 21st, shared the gift on his Instagram Stories: a gift box from marijuana dispensary Lowell Farms, complete with a weed bouquet. “WEED like to wish you a Happy Birthday! Love you! Miley & Kaitlynn” the card reads. Miley is an investor in the company and is known for sending cannabis bouquets to friends on special occasions.

“Miley and Kaitlynn, you guys really stepped it up on this one. You know my favorite company of all time. We got the birthday card attached to the weed bouquet, look at this. I have never seen one of these in my entire life. Oh my God. It’s the kush, too. Happy birthday to me,” he said in the story.
