STAN LEE’S DAUGHTER SIDES WITH SONY: The daughter of the late Marvel icon Stan Lee, co-creator of Spider-Man, is siding with Sony as it moves to potentially remove the superhero from Disney‘s Marvel Comic Universe. Joan Celia (JC) Lee tells TMZ: “Marvel and Disney seeking total control of my father’s creations must be checked and balanced by others who, while still seeking to profit, have genuine respect for Stan Lee and his legacy.” She continued: “Whether it’s Sony or someone else’s, the continued evolution of Stan’s characters and his legacy deserves multiple points of view. When my father died, no one from Marvel or Disney reached out to me. From day one, they have commoditized my father’s work and never shown him or his legacy any respect or decency.” Lee also said: “In the end, no one could have treated my father worse than Marvel and Disney’s executives.” (TMZ)
BETHENNY FRANKEL IS OUT: The Skinny empire founder and Real Housewives of New York mainstay Bethenny Frankel is leaving the famous franchise to “explore” her “next chapter,” she shared in an article posted in Variety. She added, “”It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women.” (Variety)
JAMIE FOXX DEFENDS SELA VAVE: Jamie Foxx is defending Sela Vave after the pair were spotted holding hands shortly before his breakup with longtime love Katie Holmes was confirmed. On Instagram Stories, he explained that he often took new singers under his wing when they were starting out. He said: “Nick Cannon was 13 years old, he would sleep in my old house. Before Ne-Yo was Ne-Yo, he would come to the crib. Everybody comes to my crib, no matter who you are.”He said: “But here was the thing, there is a young lady by the name of Sela Vave. I did the same thing with her.” He also said people were reading too much into the hand-holding: “I’m escorting her to my car, to put her in the car – my artist, who hangs out with my kids and is as young as my daughter.” (People)
