IRISHMAN TRAILER DROPS: The first trailer for Martin Scorsese‘s The Irishman has dropped. Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Al Pacino, Ray Romano and Harvey Keitel star; the film will open the New York Film Festival and get a theatrical release via Netflix, before moving to streamer. The film is based on Charles Brandt‘s nonfiction book, I Heard You Paint Houses, which depicts Frank Sheeran, who confessed to killing 25 people for the mob. The trailer also gives fans a first glimpse of a de-aged De Niro via CGI tech.

ABC SPEAKS OUT POST-BACHELORETTE SCANDAL: The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison warns everyone every time that this time, it will be “the most dramatic series finale ever,” but this time, he was right. Leading lady Hannah Brown got engaged, only to dump her fianc Jud Wyatt in front of a live audience after finding out that he had a girlfriend and joined the show to boost his music career. ABC exec Rob Mills spoke to Variety about the blowback on the casting process and show: “Look, you can only take people for their word. The first question is obviously, ‘Are you single?’ I guess only an idiot would say no. The question is how hard do you push? With some people, you can tell that they’re being deceitful and then you don’t cast them, but for the most part, they’re sincere. One of the things that we do is put pictures out of the cast, so it was common knowledge, if you follow the show, that Jed was going to be on the show. She [Jed’s ex-girlfriend] waited an awful long time to come forward, so clearly, this girl believes that she went along with a plan with Jed where he said to her that he was going on the show, but they would still be together because he was going on to promote his music.”

DAVID MILCH, DEADWOOD TO BE HONORED: Days ahead of the 35^th annual Television Critics Association‘s awards, the organization has set two of the honorees. HBO‘s Deadwood will be given the Heritage Award during the August 3^rd ceremony, and the show’s creator, David Milch, will take home the TCA 2019 Career Achievement honor.

HBO MAX ORDERS GREEK MYTHOLOGY SERIES: HBO Max has given the straight-to-series eight-episode order to the drama Circe, Variety reports. The series is based on the Madeline Miller book of the same name. “Circe tells an epic story of love, loss, tragedy and immortal conflict, all through the eyes of a fierce female lens,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content for HBO Max.
