Earthquake shakes up Red Deer region to start the work week
RED DEER, AB. — Local residents were shaken out of bed Monday morning by a 4.6 magnitude earthquake just outside of Red Deer.
Earthquakes Canada recorded the earthquake at 5:55 a.m. The location was 4 km south-southwest (revised from an earlier report) of Red Deer but was felt over a large area of central Alberta.
The quake was about a kilometre beneath the surface.
So far, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
