Could be a tough driving weekend on B.C. Highways
KAMLOOPS — While the snow continues to melt in Kamloops, it’s not the same on Interior highways.
In fact, just the opposite is true. Yet another dump of snow is headed for most interior routes over the next 24 hours.
The three main routes in our area affected are the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt, the Trans Canada from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, and Highway 3, the Hope-Princeton highway.
Each of those three routes are expected to get 20-30 centimeters of snow over the next 24 hours into Saturday morning. The Coquihalla last night had a mandatory chain up order in the Box Canyon area south of the snowshed, although that isn’t in effect at the moment ( 6:30 AM Friday). But if the snow comes down as expected, those orders could be back in place, so check the Drive B.C. website before heading out.
