But what to do, you ask? Here’s a list to get you started:

  • Have a video game fest with your kids, grandkids or with your honey, get the junk food close and prepare to have sore thumbs and good memories.
  • Make a new recipe. If you are tired of having the same ten meals over and over, this is the time to try something yummy and new.
  • Groom your pet. They need it, you never have time to do it, it will help you bond and lower your blood pressure!
  • Clean a closet or that junk drawer you can barely close. Fill up a box to give away to those who need it more than you. Bonus, there is a direct coalition between de-cluttering and losing weight.
  • Do some online holiday shopping, no rush, no stress, no crowds – ahhhh. Bonus for buying gifts that benefit a good cause like World Vision, Silomn Mission, Ten Thousand Villages etc.
  • Play cards, crib or an old-fashioned board game. You remember those, don’t you? Dust them off!
  • Google something fun – like tongue twisters, optical illusions, simple origami. Why – to do something different and to stretch you mind and.
  • Create some art. Paint, draw or YouTube some cool nail art to try. It doesn’t have to be good.
  • Put on that old exercise DVD – you might get re-inspired.
  • Go out and play in the snow .
  • Write an article on your perspective of living in your area of town and send it to your community paper – you could be a published columnist before you know it.
  • Stay in your pajamas all day, don’t even shower – I won’t tell anyone, go have a nap. It only happens once or twice a year – go ahead, you can do it.

Feel free to add to the list and/or pick one of these things and enjoy the benefits of a snow day (or an imaginary one)!
