B.C. cuts film tax credit 5 per cent after consulting with industry

VICTORIA — British Columbia’s finance minister has yelled cut on film and TV industry tax credits.

Mike de Jong said Monday the province’s film tax credit rate will be chopped by five per cent to 28 per cent and could save the province up to $100 million annually.

Kamloops Councillors dig for information on eastern mine tour

KAMLOOPS — Three Kamloops City Councillors are getting a good look at how mining operations can impact nearby communities.

Mayor Peter Milobar, and Councillors Tina Lange and Denis Walsh continue their open-pit mine tour out east having spent the day in Timmins, Ontario on Saturday.

Major road construction projects ready to start

KAMLOOPS — The snow has melted and the weather is warm. With spring in full swing, so begins a blast of construction around the Kamloops. 

Work will start soon on several major road construction improvement projects, many of them high traffic routes.
