MADONNA TO DIRECT FILM ON DANCER MICHAELA DEPRINCE’S LIFE: Madonna is heading back into the director’s chair. MGM Motion Picture Group president Jonathan Glickman the singer will direct a film based on ballet dancer Michaela DePrince’s memoir Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina. DePrince overcame a childhood in war-stricken Sierra Leone to become a world class ballerina. She made her debut at age 17 in South Africa’s Joburg Ballet and also appeared in Beyonc’s Lemonade. Madonna has directed two previous features: The 2008 comedy Filth and Wisdom and the Wallis Simpson drama W.E. She is also working on a film adaptation of the novel The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells. No cast or release date is set for Taking Flight, but Fresh Off the Boat writer Camilla Blackett will pen the screenplay.

John Mayer Buying Adam Levine’s House: John Mayer is buying Adam’s Levine’s mansion in Beverly Crest for $13.5 million dollars. The home, set on 3.6 acres, features a swimming pool, spa, lighted basketball court, two-car garage with hydraulic lift, a great room, a media room, a den, a gym and even a card room. Adam purchased the home in 2012 for just under $5 million and originally listed it for just under $16 million. Adam just bought a new house from Will & Grace creator Max Mutchnick for just under $34 million. The home, with five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a detached guesthouse, has plenty of room for the Maroon 5 frontman, his wife Behati Prinsloo and their two young daughters, Dusty Rose, 17 months, and Gio Grace, born just last month. Earlier this year, Adam sold a property in the Holmby Hills section of L.A. for $18 million, after owning it for just four months.

HALSEY TO VOICE WONDER WOMAN IN UPCOMING ANIMATED FILM ‘TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES’: Halsey has been cast in the forthcoming animated film, Teen Titans GO! To The Movies, headed to theaters July 27th. She’ll voice Wonder Woman in the movie, which is based on the popular Cartoon Network series, Teen Titans GO! The cast also includes rapper Lil Yachty as the voice of Green Lantern, and Nicolas Cage as the voice of Superman. In the movie, the characters Robin, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg and Beast Boy look for a Hollywood director, voiced by Kristen Bell, so she can make them stars.
