Cameron Diaz Is Done??

Cameron Diaz is done with that whole acting thing, according to her friend Selma Blair. (Or is she?)

In a recent interview, Blair was asked if she would ever consider a sequel to her and Diaz’s 2002 cult classic The Sweetest Thing, and she responded: “‘I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting, she’s like, ‘I’m done.’”

  • But wait! Maybe not. Blair backpedaled on Twitter Monday afternoon, writing: “Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.”
  • Still, Blair may be onto something. The 45-year-old Diaz has not appeared onscreen since the 2014 remake of Annie, in which she appeared as the cruel Miss Hartigan.
  • In the interview (that she now claims was innaccurate) Blair said Diaz wants to focus on her life at home with musician Benji Madden, 39. The pair met in 2014 after being introduced by Nicole Ritchie and married seven months later.
  • “I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films, she has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back.”
  • Back in January, Us Weekly reported that Diaz was more interested on starting a family than appearing in more movies. A source told the mag: “Cameron hasn’t wanted to work. She is enjoying being at home and being a housewife, she would love more than anything to be a mom. At this point they would be very happy with the miracle of one child.”
  • Diaz rose to stardom with roles in The Mask, My Best Friend’s Wedding and There’s Something About Mary.
