5 Seconds of Summer Are Coming Back

5 Seconds of Summer has teased their first release in a couple years, “Want You Back,” which is scheduled to drop this Friday.

Late last week, the band tweeted the hashtag “#5SOS3ISCOMING?”

As Billboard notes, 5SOS are the only band ever to have their first two full-length studio albums – their self-titled 2014 debut and 2015’s Sounds Good Feels Good – enter the Billboard album chart at No. 1.

In December, 5SOS guitarist Michael Clifford told Billboard that the first single from their third album would be out in the “really early” stages of 2018.

Attempting to describe their new music, Michael said, “It’s kind of taking a mix of ’90s… It’s so hard to explain… There’s a bunch of garage… The ways we do the gang vocals is kind of like Beastie Boys-ish. Then we have somber pianos on songs… It all makes sense.”
