After getting raked over the e-coals for making $1.5 million for the extensive reshoots on All the Money in the World while his costar Michelle Williams got $1,000, the 46-year-old Mark Wahlberg is donating his salary to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Williams’ name.

Wahlberg reportedly refused to sign off on the recasting of Christopher Plummer in accused sexual assaulter Kevin Spacey‘s role without the substantial payout, while Williams contract required her to do the reshoots. Many say that contract or no, the disparity points the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

  • “Over the last few days my reshoot fee for All the Money in the World has become an important topic of conversation,” Wahlberg said in a statement obtained by People. “I 100% support the fight for fair pay and I’m donating the $1.5 million to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name.”
  • Wahlberg’s agency, William Morris, is also making a $500K donation, bringing the total to $2 million.
