Ed’s the Biggest Man of 2017

It’s official. Ed Sheeran has the biggest album of 2017, with sales equivalents of his blockbuster release (divide) exceeding 2,764,000 units. Sheeran dominated Billboard’s recently released Year In Review, standing at No. 1 on 16 of their year-end charts including Top Artist of the Year and Hot 100 Song of the Year for “Shape Of You.”

Furthermore, is one of only two titles released in 2017 to surpass the 1 million mark in pure album sales, and the only album of the year to have two singles go to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This week, is back up to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 while the album’s latest single “Perfect” stands at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth consecutive week.

debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the biggest first week sales at the time of its March 2017 release, and remained in the chart’s top 10 for a staggering 39 weeks (including 20 consecutive weeks). “Shape Of You” – the album’s 7x-Platinum lead single – debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in January 2017, held the top spot for a remarkable 12 weeks, and remained in the top 10 for 33 consecutive weeks, the most ever in the chart’s 59-year history.

Sheeran will return for his first-ever North American stadium tour next summer, beginning on August 18th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and continue into November.
