Celebs Gone Good for 2017

Dec 27, 2017 | 5:00 AM

Chance The Rapper, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Beyonc are among this year’s most charitable celebs. DoSomething.org has announced its annual Celebs Gone Good list of 2017, recognizing the big names who used their fame to create social change.

Chance, who comes in at No. 1 on the list, is recognized for co-founding youth empowerment charity SocialWorks Chicago and launching the New Chance Arts & Literature Fund to support and invest in Chicago public school arts programs and raising more than $2 million for Chicago Public Schools.

Ariana comes in at No. 3 on the list for her efforts following the deadly Manchester bombing at the end of her May 22nd concert. She organized the One Love Manchester concert to raise money for the victims and their families.

Rihanna places fourth thanks to her annual Diamond Ball, which raised $840,000 for charity, and her Clara Lionel Foundation, which helps impoverished communities across the world.

Last year, Beyonc topped the list, but this year she makes it at No. 5. She launched BeyGOOD Houston to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, and she handed out food and supplies to residents in need. She also paid the college tuition of four female students to celebrate Lemonade’s one-year anniversary.

Other stars making the list include Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui, Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Bruno Mars. Football player Colin Kaepernick comes in at No. 2.
