ED SHEERAN CALLS TAYLOR SWIFT'S BOYFRIEND 'A REALLY GOOD DUDE': Ed Sheeran has giving Taylor Swift's new boyfriend Joe Alwyn his stamp of approval. During a recent interview, the 26-year-old Grammy-winning singer gushed over Taylor's new boyfriend. "He's really nice. Really, really friendly, really good dude," Ed shared during his interview on the Captain Breakfast radio show before sharing that the three hang out every so often in the UK. "We're in touch, quite a fair bit, you know, and she's been in London quite a bit as well," Ed said. Taylor and Joe have been quietly dating since May. Ed went on to say that he's listened to Taylor's new album Reputation and he's impressed with what he's heard. "The songs are great," Ed said. "I think people will like the album." Ed's been dealing with two broken arms after a bicycle accident earlier this month. said his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, even has had to brush his teeth for him.
FORMER 'WALKING DEAD' STAR EMILY KINNEY DEBUTS 'MERMAID SONG': Emily Kinney, best known for her a four-year stint as Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, has been a new track titled "Mermaid Song" (released independently) out now. "Mermaid Song" has Kinney warning a lover that the version of her he sees is an illusion - "I am a mermaid that you dreamt" - over a synth and an eerie beat. Kinney was also heard on the "Walking Dead's" soundtrack singing "The Parting Glass," which has over 2.7 streams on Spotify. The singer-songwriter's debut full-length album, This Is War, was released in October 2015.
SELENA GOMEZ TO PERFORM NEW SONG 'WOLVES' AT AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: Selena Gomez is set to take the stage at the upcoming American Music Awards ceremony where she will be performing her song "Wolves." The event's official Twitter page posted the announcement alongside colorful promotional art for the performance that detailed how the AMA Awards will mark Gomez's television premiere of "Wolves." In 2016, Gomez was awarded the Favorite Female Artist-Pop/Rock award at the AMAs. "Wolves" which was made in collaboration with producer Marshmello, is Gomez's third electronic dance music track following "I Want You to Know" in 2015 and "It Ain't Me" in 2017. The American Music Awards will be airing live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 19th on ABC.
BRUNO MARS, LADY GAGA AND TAYLOR SWIFT VYING FOR 2017 BILLBOARD TOURING AWARDS: Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift have each been named finalists at the 2017 Billboard Touring Awards, scheduled for November 14th, at the Montage Beverly Hills hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The three acts were nominated in the Concert Marketing and Promotion category. Bruno was recognized for his Paint the World Gold campaign for his 24K Magic tour, while Gaga was nominated for her Dream Ticket promotion with Verizon for her Joanne world tour. Taylor was honored for her Super Saturday show with AT&T and her Taylor Swift Now channel on AT&T's DirecTV Now streaming service. Khalid and Foo Fighters were also nominated in the category. The 2017 Billboard Touring Awards ceremony is part of 14th annual Billboard Touring Conference, which will be held November 14-15.
JOHN LEGEND HONORED BY THE SMITHSONIAN: John Legend and Ava Duvernay worked together on the Oscar nominated film Selma, and now they're being honored by the Smithsonian Institution. Legend and Duvernay are among the winners of the sixth annual American Ingenuity Awards. Legend is being honored for performing arts, while Duvernay is being recognized in the visual arts category. Duvernay directed Selma, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Legend won an Oscar for Best Original Song with Common for "Glory" which was featured on the Selma soundtrack. The American Ingenuity Awards will be presented November 29th at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. Presenters at the event will include Quincy Jones, saxophonist Branford Marsalis, and David Oyelowo, who starred as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma.
