Kelly Clarkson has announced that the title of her new single is "Love So Soft" and it will be released this week. The 35-year-old singer released a 15-second teaser video on her social media accounts on Monday morning as a Labor Day surprise for fans.
The song is set to be released on September 7th and will be the lead single of Kelly's seventh studio album - her first under her new deal with Atlantic Records.
Meanwhile, it has been 15 years since Kelly won the first season of American Idol. The Grammy-winning singer was just 20-years-old when the finale aired and she belted out "A Moment Like This" for millions of people. The finale took place on September 4, 2002.
"15 years ago today my life changed y'all! I am so blessed and so grateful #amomentlikethis #originalsauce," Kelly tweeted along with a GIF of sauce being cooked.
Clarkson has since released 11 international No. 1 singles, including the U.S. chart-toppers "Before Your Love," "My Life Would Suck Without You" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." Clarkson has also made her mark as a songwriter, with co-writing credit on many of her biggest hits - including "Because of You" (named ASCAP’s 2007 Pop Song of the Year), "Miss Independent" and "Walk Away." Her seven studio albums have each hit the top three in the U.S., and have collectively sold over 25 million albums worldwide.
Clarkson has consistently broken records and earned accolades in multiple genres, including three Grammys, 12 Billboard Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards and four American Music Awards.
