The Kamloops Film Festival returns for it's 22nd year and will once again take over the Paramount Theatre in downtown Kamloops March 1st - 10th, 2018 for ten days of film festival excitement.
This year’s event will feature over twenty of the very best films from Canada and around the world. Festival Chair, Dušan Magdolen, says there is truly something for everyone, “Our film selection process involves the entire planning committee so there is always a diverse offering of films.” #KFF2018 will again offer a selection of horror films as part of DarkFest, the popular film-for-a-cause charity screenings, the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts (KISS) Festival – which celebrates 5 minute shorts made by filmmakers from the region, and the numerous popular engagement events.
Festival-goers will be able to purchase individual tickets to films as well as DarkeFest, 5-film, 10-film, and full-festival passes.
Advance passes will be available exclusively online February 5, and advance single tickets will be available online and at Moviemart (367 St. Paul Street) February 12.
Magdolen hopes filmgoers embrace the festival culture as more than just an opportunity to see a film or two, “Some of the best moments during the festival happen at our post-film Q&A’s with producers and directors, or during conversations at one of our casual film discussion events at a local eatery. We want to create a buzz in downtown Kamloops for the duration of the festival.”
Organizers are also seeking volunteers to help the festival go off without a hitch. “This event wouldn’t happen without the incredible team of volunteers,” said Magdolen, “Regardless of whether you’re a film buff or not, volunteering with the festival is a fun way to socialize, meet new people and contribute to one of Kamloops’ longest-standing events.” Plus, not only do you get to see the film on the night that you’re working, but you get a voucher for another film as well!
