Today we bring you the second instalment in a series of features on small town BC. For many rural communities in this province, recovery from the recession has been slow. The situation is no different in Barriere and Louis Creek, two towns located 40 minutes north of Kamloops. Both of these communities are highly dependent on the forestry sector, an industry rocked especially hard when the US homebuilding market tanked. But today, after the firestorms of 2003 and the collapse of the lumber industry, signs of progress are emerging.
