Secwepemc anti-pipeline activists arm tiny homes with solar power

CHASE, B.C. — A group of Indigenous Secwepemc activists fighting the Kinder Morgan TransMountain pipeline expansion have taken the next step in their battle.

The group, called ‘Tiny House Warriors,’ are building dwellings and placing them in the path of the expansion project.

According to a news release, the group has now begun installing solar panels on the first of ten homes being constructed.

The panels have been donated by the Lubicon Cree, a northern Alberta First Nation who installed solar panels in their own community in 2015.
