House fire in Rayleigh causes ‘extensive damage’

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in Rayleigh this afternoon.

It broke out at around 1:15 p.m. at a home on Cameron Road.

Captain Will Harlock says the blaze started in the kitchen.

He adds the fire caused “extensive damage” and the home is now “uninhabitable.”

There were two people in the house when the fire started but no one was injured.

More than a dozen firefighters doused the blaze and are still on scene checking for hot spots.
