RCMP advise cyclists to safeguard their bikes with Garage 529

KAMLOOPS — If you are a long-time bicycle owner, chances are you’ve had one stolen in your lifetime.

Kamloops RCMP are promoting a smartphone app they say will help keep your bike in your possession, or if it is stolen, get it returned to you.

The Garage 529 app records critical information about your bicycle.

It’s then matched with a tamper-proof sticker the owner can affix to the bike.

The stickers are available from the local RCMP detachment, and police will hold several sign-up events throughout the summer, including this Saturday, April 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Juniper Bike Ranch.
