B.C. could sue Alberta over proposed oil restrictions

VANCOUVER —  B-C Attorney General David Eby says the province could sue Alberta if it follows through with proposed legislation to restrict exports of oil, gasoline and natural gas to its neighbour.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says the legislation is not intended to punish B-C for its opposition to the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project, but that it does send the message that Alberta is prepared to defend its resources.

Most analysts say the legislation would cause gas prices to spike in B-C.
