Sicamous man facing child porn charges

SICAMOUS — 44 year old Sicamous resident Duane Redekopp has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography.
The Sicamous RCMP says the investigation started last November and led to the execution of a search warrant at a Sicamous home on January 29, 2018.
“The search resulted in the seizure of computers and computer storage devices. A forensic analysis of these devices found images that were determined to be child pornography,” says Sgt. M.H. McNeil, who adds Redekopp is bound by conditions that include an order prohibiting him from contacting anyone under the age of 18 and from possessing a device which may access the internet.
He says police have no evidence to suggest Redekopp has offended against any local children.
