KAMLOOPS — A big time perk for a Kamloops non-profit.

Cafe Motivo announced Thursday it will be donating 300 pounds of premium roast J.J. Bean coffee to New Life Community this year.

Cafe Motivo Owner Mike O’Reilly says the donation was prompted by New Life’s call for assistance this past winter.

“We know the incredible work this organization does in supporting those in our community who need a little extra help,” he said. “It’s important to us to know that they will always have the coffee pot on to invite people in.”

Stan Dueck, outgoing executive director at New Life Community, was thrilled with the news, noting the coffee will fill a huge need.

“We go through 1,000 pounds of coffee a year at least and we really ration it at different times. So, for Mike to step up and donate a third of our entire coffee needs is really a huge deal for us.”
