100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — An unusually tense police incident in 100 Mile House over the weekend.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says a 42 year old local man was arrested early Sunday morning after police investigated a shots fired call.

“Shortly after 1 a.m., police were called about a man with thoughts of self-harm who possibly had a loaded handgun,” she says. “As the police were responding to this call, shots were heard in the downtown area of 100 Mile House.”

Saunderson says police immediately contained the area and two businesses were locked down. The Emergency Response Team from Prince George and Police Dog Services from Williams Lake were also called in to assist.
