Yet another rescue of stranded hikers in Peterson Creek

KAMLOOPS — Stick to the trails. That’s the word from Kamloops Fire and Rescue after firefighters had to put themselves in danger yesterday for the third time in a week near the waterfalls at Peterson Creek

Crews rescued a man and a woman yesterday afternoon after they got into trouble on a rock face near the waterfall.

It’s the same general area as two previous rescues.

In order to effect these rescues, fire crews have to set up a rescue situation where firemen have to lower themselves down to the stranded hikers from above, put them into harnesses and lower them back to the ground.
