KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue has confirmed Wednesday night’s fire on the Tk’emlups reserve was human-caused.

Flames from the fire came as close as 40 feet to three residences along Mohawk Crescent before fire crews doused the flames.

Chief Fire Inspector Dean Olstad says it’s unclear whether the fire was deliberately set, or accidental.

“The inspector attended the scene and found that the cause of the fire was a human-caused fire. There were no other sources of ignition like anything electrical or any type of lightning strike. So, it was human-caused.”
