VANCOUVER — A new survey conducted by Mainstreet Research shows the NDP holding a five point lead over the Liberals throughout the province.

The survey, which was taken earlier this month, is accurate within 2.52 percent 19 times out of 20.

Quito Maggi, President and CEO of Mainstreet, says the election of Andrew Wilkinson as B.C. Liberal leader hasn’t had any effect on the Liberal popularity so far. He says John Horgan maintains roughly the same lead over the Liberals as he had in January.

The NDP have 36% support across the province, compared to 30.7% for the Liberals, and 22 percent for the Green Party. Maggi also says Horgan’s popularity hasn’t been affected by his battle with Alberta over pipelines.
