Cariboo traffic blitz leads to 50 charges, drug seizures

WILLIAMS LAKE — A successful traffic blitz in Williams Lake this week.

Mounties say on Thursday police conducted a road check on Highway 97 in Williams Lake, leading to more than 50 violation charges as well as more than 140 notice and orders for various vehicle defects.

“Among the violations, one person was charged for driving while suspended and police made two drug seizures,” says North District Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

She adds over 220 commercial vehicles wrere checked for compliance with four of those being put out of service for “a variety of reasons while some others were issued violation charges.”
