KAMLOOPS — A gruesome discovery in Kamloops Wednesday afternoon.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says just after 3:00 p.m. Mounties were called to Domtar Pulp Mill on Mission Flats Road after employees reported seeing a body in one of the ponds.

"The RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Coroner's Officer are currently on scene," She says. "The investigation is in its infancy and very few details are available. At this time it is unknown how the body came to be in the pond, how long it has been there of if foul play is suspected."

Shelkie says more details will be released as they become available.
